Mission Statement:


The mission of the Spring View Middle School Counseling Department is to serve all students by providing a quality educational program, which ensures that each student has the opportunity to meet the student’s academic, career, personal, and social needs.

Spring View Middle School offers counseling in personal and social concerns, academic needs and career and college planning.
 
Important Upcoming Dates: 
Week of January 23-27: Naviance Career Key Presentation to 7th grade classes. 
Week of February 6-10: Naviance Career Cluster Presentation to 8th grade classes. 
February 10th: Career Day 
Week of February 13-17: Pre-High School Presentation to 8th graders. 
March 3rd: WHS and RHS High School Counselors on campus to talk about registration. 
March 6th: WHS and RHS Showcase Night

College and Career Counseling

  • Career exploration activities
  • Career Day Event
  • Classroom instruction on the Six-Year Plan, including graduation and college requirements
  • Individual parent/student appointments available for college planning, decision-making, and application processes
  • View Career Awareness and Interest Inventory

Personal Counseling

  • Personal counseling is available to students upon request from a student or parent/guardian or by referral from a teacher, coach or administrator.
  • The school counselor is available to assist students with a wide range of personal problems. The counselor is not there to make decisions for the student, but can provide information which will help the student arrive at his or her own decisions.
  • School counselors are available for parent conferences and referral resources as needed or upon request.
  • Crisis intervention counseling, drug and alcohol abuse prevention information, education, and referrals are always available.
