Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

At Spring View Middle School, we believe that student behavior should reflect the values of good citizenship that are essential to a thriving democratic society. As a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) school, we are committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment by using a proactive, data-driven approach to promote positive behavior and a strong campus culture.

Student Expectations
Our students are expected to:
  • Show respect for authority, state laws, school policies, and procedures.
  • Take personal responsibility for their learning and behavior.
  • Uphold high standards of courtesy, integrity, and respect for both public and personal property.
  • Take pride in their work, their school, and their accomplishments.

About PBIS at Spring View
PBIS is a framework grounded in behavioral science and best instructional practices, designed to support the academic and social success of all students. At Spring View, PBIS guides our efforts to implement proactive strategies and positive supports that prevent behavioral issues, improve school climate, and help each student thrive. Whether at the school-wide level or through individualized support plans, our goal is to empower students to make positive choices.

Responsible Student Behavior
Spring View students are expected to demonstrate respect for all staff members, fellow students, and school property. In support of this, we have established clear behavioral expectations—some mandated by the State of California, others designed to promote safety, respect, and school pride.

Every student is expected to:
  • Respect the right of all students to learn without disruption.
  • Value and protect the feelings, rights, health, safety, and property of others.
  • Treat all adults and peers with courtesy and consideration.
  • Approach school as their place of work, dressing and behaving accordingly.
  • Contribute to a kind, clean, safe, and productive campus environment.
  • Show respect and cooperation to all school personnel, including substitutes.

Together, we cultivate a community where students feel safe, supported, and inspired to succeed.
